This new video from The Onion, breaks down the story of how the Obamaniacs are trying to put together the pieces of their now-empty lives and move forward. Since it’s election day, we thought it might fun to take a look back at how young people used to get excited about our political process way back in 1996 (around the same time Adam Sandler was rocking his red hooded sweatshirt). In this video clip, we see local news coverage of an MTV-sponsored Rock the Vote party featuring the band Presidents of the United States of America (what ever happened to them?) and a bunch of “excited” young voters who the local newscast explains to us are getting ready to vote by doing something called “moshing in the pit” and a new fad that’s sweeping the nation called “crowd surfing.” Oh 1996, you were so amusing…

As we’ve already mentioned multiple times, the Presidential election is in the home stretch and all that’s left for us to do now is figure out how we’re going to celebrate (and/or mourn) the results. As the Presidential election mercifully grinds to a close, people are already starting to wonder what this country will look like under a Barack Obama presidency (cranky Presidents on Mt. Trailing in the polls, John McCain is trying just about everything these days (including dancing to Madonna songs) in a desperate attempt to win people’s votes. But now he’s sunk to a new low in this latest Competitive Awesome video featuring McCain going to Roscoe’s Chicken and Waffles restaurant in Los Angeles and attempting to bribe black people into voting for him by offering them grape soda and pregnancy tests. Yikes.

Just when you thought you’d seen Presidential candidates Barack Obama and John McCain do battle in every possible way (Yo Mama jokes, really?), here comes a new funny video featuring Obama and McCain having their own Presidential dance off. Now if only the actual presidential election was decided this way.

In what we’re pretty sure is Saturday Night Live’s funniest skit of the season, the real Sarah Palin appeared on SNL’s Weekend Update segment to dance to cast member Amy Poehler’s Sarah Palin rap song. The video clip above features the funny scene that resulted, complete with Sarah Palin raising the roof. This video clip is so funny it might even be better than the Sarah Palin porn video Nailin’ Palin.

With the presidential election just weeks away from its dramatic conclusion (thank God), the candidates are gearing up for a last batch of serious campaigning.
