Long ago, the world was a primitive place where everyone invented gods and monsters to explain what was happening around them (and in some cases used mythology to annoy people with their cell phones). Some of these mythical creatures are awesome (a pegasus, anyone?) and some are not so good. Here is a list of the 13 Worst Mythical Creatures of all time. And most of them are from Japan.

13. Mermaids

Does anybody else think it’s weird that mermaids are supposed to be sexy? You don’t like mermaids. You like naked chicks. The fish part only makes it worse and smellier.

We don’t love electronic music (yeah, we know we’re not “cool”), but that’s because most electronic music doesn’t come with videos of hundreds of Japanese divers doing their thing. We’re not sure that this Denki Groove music video is technically “funny,” but it is mesmerizing enough that we’ve fallen victim to its spell and thought we should share it with you. We haven’t been caught in a spell like this since we saw the guy humping a bag a Cheetos.

In this video clip from Banzai TV, Mr. Shake Hands Man (a guy who goes to red carpet events and proceeds to see how long he can shake hands with a celebrity before they awkward break his grip on them) tries his luck with comedy legend Bill Murray.

Here’s an amusing clip that comes to us courtesy of some Japanese news report. It features a female reporter who is telling some bit of news from a pig farm (we have no idea what the “news” is because we don’t speak YouTube Japanese), but as she is delivering her report two of the pigs behind her decide to get their bang on. Oh, and because this is foreign and that wouldn’t be odd enough, there’s also some dude that runs over the humping pigs and appears to, uh, help them out.

We have no idea what this video is exactly, but here’s what we think is going on - there’s some Japanese people trying to learn English phrases and one of the key phrases they feel the need to learn is “I have a bad case of diarrhea.” As if that’s not strange enough, their method for learning this phrase involves having some women in leotards exercising while singing a song about having diarrhea. We have to admit, it is a catchy little tune though…

Oh, those wacky Japanese. You can always count on them to come up with entertaining commercials for relatively obscure products - in this case, they use some serious scare tactics to convince women to use a particular shave gel in order to make sure their bikini line doesn’t get too unruly.

What’s the deal with Japan? Sorry, we don’t mean to sound like Jerry Seinfeld, but seriously…what’s the deal with Japan? Not only are Japanese television shows by far the most wacked out in the world, but even day to day life over there seems to be full of oddly entertaining moments. Don’t believe us?
