In case you missed last night’s debut of Saturday Night Live’s first Thursday Weekend Update edition, here’s a video clip of the entire episode. Like most SNL episodes, it had its hits (a great Bill Murray opening cameo about the Chicago Cubs and the Seth Myers and Amy Poehler “Really?” bit during the Weekend Update segment) and its misses (Surprisingly, there was no new Tina Fey Sarah Palin skit). But it’s well worth taking 20 minutes of your day to watch the video and see what SNL did with their new Thursday night time slot. After all, how else are you going to spend your day - working?
When we showcased the star-studded “Don’t Vote” PSA video that came out last week, we knew it wouldn’t take long for people to start doing parodies of the video. But we doubt we ever imagined that somebody would come up with one as random as this version from Magic Hugs, in which a couple minor edits turn the PSA into a compelling argument for not watching any Nicolas Cage movies ever again.
Those of you that have been eagerly awaiting a sequel to the Paris Hilton sex tape may be disappointed that the sequel she decided to make instead is to her Paris Hilton for President video. However it does feature a cameo from another fake President - Martin Sheen from The West Wing. In her newest Paris Hilton for President campaign video clip from Funny or Die, Paris “seeks the advice of one of our greatest fake Presidents.”
There’s plenty of people out there who believe that John McCain is a villain, but it wasn’t until we came across this video that we realized exactly what super villain he might be. As you’ll see in the video, McCain has some very spooky similarities to The Penguin, Batman’s long time nemesis, which makes sense in light of his opponent being Barackman and all.
There are a lot of Sarah Palin debate pictures out there, but this is definitely our favorite Sarah Palin debate picture. Coincidentally, it’s also our favorite Sarah Palin debate flowchart.
Last night’s Vice Presidential debate may have been entertaining (though not quite as amusing as the story behind the debate), but this video shows just how much better any debate can be when the candidates answers are taken out of context. In this case, it’s a remix of John McCain and Barack Obama’s first Presidential debate and it reveals what we assume is really going on in their minds as they try to convince the American public that they’re the best politician for the job.
The Vice Presidential debate is just about a day away and we’re certainly getting excited to watch the trainwreck that is sure to result from Sarah Palin and Joe Biden matching wits in their first debate. But to clear up some of the confusion about the VP debate rules, we reached out to the Commission on Presidential Debates and asked them to clarify some things for us. The result is this video, which explains what special rules the John McCain and Barack Obama campaigns have asked for in the upcoming VP debate. You can just go ahead and add them to the list of 9 Surprising Facts We Learned About Sarah Palin.
Anybody that has faith in the intelligence of the American voter might want to cover their eyes before watching this video of an average hillbilly woman breaking down her opinion of why this country doesn’t need “an Arab” like Barack Obama in the White House. But before you get carried away with the assumption that this is your typical redneck Republican, stick around for the second part of the video where she reveals that she’s no Republican…she was a Hillary Clinton supporter. Yikes. Kind of makes us long for the more thoughtful arguments we heard in Yo’ Candidate.
The debate tonight might be between John McCain and Barack Obama, but the battle we really want to see is between Ann Coulter and Jesse Jackson and we’d like to see it fought in the style of MTV’s trainwreck of a show, Yo Mama. Well, thanks to our pals at WTF-TV, our dreams have come true.
In Sarah Silverman’s newest video she decides to get a little political by making a plea for Jews to make The Great Schlep down to Florida to convince their grandparents to vote for Barack Obama. She then goes on to explain all the things that Florida grandparents and young black people have in common as part of a compelling argument for why old Jews should vote for Obama.
