Get ready to giggle because ABC has officially announced a new comedy series from Modern Family creator, Chris Lloyd.
The new, currently unnamed, comedy will feature actors Alec Baldwin and Kelsey Grammer as two of three university roommates who experienced a huge falling out over trying to prove whose ego was bigger. Already hooked? Us too.
The series will be co-written and co-executive produced by Chris Lloyd and Vali Chandrasekaran. Chandrasekaran is most well known for writing and producing 30-Rock, which starred Baldwin, My Name Is Earl, and Modern Family.
Old friends Lloyd and Grammer are no strangers to working as a team. They spent 11 years together on the set of Frasier, the popular ’90s comedy about radio psychiatrist Frasier Crane. The two have worked together on the Fox comedy series, Back To You, since then.
The ABC comedy is scheduled for the 2021-22 premiere season, produced by 20th Television, part of Disney TV Studios. ABC has already requested a full series order, signaling that we should sit down, get comfy, and laugh our faces off.
This new series comes after Lloyd's 11 seasons of Modern Family, which ended filming this year. Some members of the Pritchett/Dunphy family came together in late October for their first mini reunion 5 months after wrapping up filming.
Sofia Vergara, Sarah Hyland, Jesse Tyler Ferguson, and Julie Bowen got together in Jay and Gloria's living room, and are already planning another reunion soon so the rest of the family can attend!
We're sure we can't be the only ones who miss Modern Family. So, luckily for us, with news of a new Comedy series, along with the upcoming holidays- We have lots to look forward to! We suggest clearing up your calendar, something tells us this is going to be good...
